The Wheel of the Year is a visualization of the eight seasonal celebrations called Sabbats. The wheel includes four solar holidays (the solstices and equinoxes) and four additional holidays to celebrate significant seasonal change in between.

These holidays have their roots in ancient Celtic agricultural festivals. Modern Pagans use the Sabbats to connect with the cycle of the seasons and human life.
